SOCAL BREAKERS 12U (Steele) TEAM

SoCal Breakers - Steele Win Triple Crown Sparklers Jr. 12U Gold Tournament  

The Breakers went 9-0 and won the Triple Crown Sparklers Jr. tournament in Colorado.  In its 9 games, the team outscored its opponents by a combined total of 83-8.  It was an impressive performance by a great group of girls.

SoCal Breakers - Steele Finish Second at Best of the West Tournament - June 2013

The Breakers played well in OC Batbusters Best of the West Tournament, making it to the championship game against the Arizona Suncats.  The Suncats prevailed in the championship, but it was a well played game for both teams.

SoCal Breakers - Steele Win Memorial Day Classic for the Second Consecutive Year

The Breakers went 8-0 in winning their second consecutive Memorial Day Classic.   The tournament win was a team effort with some great pitching and defense and timely hitting.

SoCal Breakers - Steele Win Fresno Force Classic

The Breakers had a great tournament, highlighted by some outstanding pitching. After a tie game in the first pool play match, the Breaker pitchers proceeded to toss 7 consecutive shutout wins, culminating in 1-0 win over an excellent OC Batbusters team. During the 5 bracket play games, the team outscored their opponents 27-0.

SoCal Breakers - Steele - Co-Champs of the 2012 Triple Crown Monster Mash

After a rocky 1-2 start in pool play, the Breakers came on strong during bracket play of Triple Crown's Monster Mash tournament. The team went 5-0 on Sunday, outscoring their opponents 63-8, while run ruling every team they faced. Due to rain delays earlier in the day for the other bracket, Triple Crown cancelled the championship game and declared both SoCal Breakers and Cal Cruisers - Orrantia to be co-champions of the tournament. It was a great weekend of softball, which included outstanding pitching, defensive gems, great hitting, and even some home runs.


 

SoCal Breakers 12U - Steele Take 2nd Place at Colorado Sparkler

SoCal Breakers - Steele played in Triple Crown's Colorado Sparkler the week of June 25. The tournament field included 54 12U teams from all over the western United States. The team opened the tournament by going 4-0 in pool play, without surrendering a single run. They then won their first three bracket games, before dropping a tough 3-2 loss to Firecrackers - Davis. The Breakers then proceeded to battle back through the losers' bracket, defeating two highly regarded Texas teams, before beating Case Batbusters 2-1 to reach the championship game. In the final, the Firecrackers prevailed 4-1, closing the game with a diving stop of a line drive with the tying run at the plate.

Overall, it was a great week of softball by the Breakers, going 10-2, while outscoring their opponents 66-14. Additionally, all four of the Breaker's designated all stars were selected by Triple Crown to participate in Thursday night's All American All Star game. The Breakers were the only team in the 54 team field to have four players selected, and only one other team had as many as three All American selections.

SoCal Breakers 12U-Steele took the championship of Triple Crown's Memorial Day Classic. The girls went 7-0 in the tournament, outscoring their opponents 34-7.

Marcy Steele is the Coach of the 12U team. Marcy has over 10 years softball coaching experience, and has coached teams up to the 18-Gold level, taking several teams to top 20 finishes at ASA Nationals. Many of her players have gone on to play college softball, including her oldest daughter Haley, who currently plays softball at Arizona State University.
